Terms of use
The terms you agree to
What LetDesk is not. LetDesk keeps records. It is not a solicitor, an accountant or a tax adviser. It does not serve notices, does not decide whether a rent increase is valid, does not give legal or tax advice, and does not file anything with HMRC. Every figure it shows comes from information you gave it, and where your history is incomplete it says so rather than guessing.
1. These terms
These terms are between you and [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] ([COMPANY NUMBER]), whose registered office is [REGISTERED OFFICE ADDRESS]. By creating an account or using LetDesk you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.
2. Who can use LetDesk
You must be at least 18 and using the service for your own property business, or on behalf of a business you are authorised to act for. You are responsible for what happens under your account, so keep access to your Google or Apple sign-in secure.
3. What the service does
LetDesk lets you:
- record properties, tenancies and rent amounts, including changes over time;
- import bank statements and reconcile receipts against rent due;
- attach supporting documents as evidence;
- see a per-tenant and per-property statement of account, and export it.
Where the imported history does not cover a period, LetDesk labels the record incomplete or unknown rather than treating missing information as unpaid rent. Those labels are a description of the data you supplied, not a legal conclusion.
4. Your records are yours
You own the information you put into LetDesk. You give us permission to store it and process it so we can run the service for you, and for no other purpose. You can export your records, and you can ask us to delete them — see the privacy notice for how that works.
You are responsible for having a lawful basis to hold information about your tenants, and for the accuracy of what you enter. LetDesk is your processor for that information.
5. Using it properly
You must not:
- use LetDesk for anything unlawful, or to harass or discriminate against a tenant;
- upload information about other people that you have no right to hold;
- try to break, overload, probe or gain unauthorised access to the service;
- copy or resell the service, or scrape it automatically;
- use it to give legal, tax or accounting advice to someone else on our behalf.
6. Price
LetDesk is currently free to use while it is in its pilot period. We will give you at least 30 days' notice before introducing any charge, and we will not charge you without your agreement. If a paid plan is introduced, you will always be able to export your records and stop using the service instead.
7. Availability
We aim to keep LetDesk available but we do not promise uninterrupted service. We may need to take it down for maintenance, and we may change or withdraw features. We will give reasonable notice of anything that materially reduces what you can do.
8. Accuracy and your own checks
The record LetDesk produces is only as good as the information imported into it. Matching suggestions are suggestions: you decide what is correct, and nothing is confirmed as rent received without your confirmation. LetDesk is not a substitute for your own accounting, legal or tax advice, and you should not rely on it as a determination of what you are owed or what you owe.
9. Our responsibility to you
We provide the service with reasonable care and skill. We are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business or indirect loss arising from your use of the service, or for decisions you take on the basis of the records it shows. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
10. Ending it
You can stop using LetDesk and ask us to close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or where we are required to by law. Before closing an account we will give you the opportunity to export your records, unless doing so would be unlawful or would put the service or another person at risk.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If we make a significant change we will tell you in the app and update the version date above. Continuing to use LetDesk after that means you accept the new terms.
12. Which law applies
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
